Changing spark plugs on a 99 Cad Catera?

I need help understanding how to change the spark plugs on a 99 Cad Catera. Just lifting the hood is no help. It appears the wires and plugs are covered up somehow. Please assist if you can. I want to avoid taking it to a dealership if I can.Changing spark plugs on a 99 Cad Catera? The spark plugs are located under the upper plenum on this vehicle. When you open the hood there is a large plastic cover to be removed, the upper plenum is an aluminum item typically attached by 10 to 12 bolts. Once the plenum is removed you will have access to the spark plugs. The spark plugs are platinum and expensive. It is typical to only have to replace them after 100,000 miles. If you have less you may be able to have the Fuel(induction)system service that will remove the carbon build up. Not to sound degrading but I would leave it to a professional mechanic on this ride.Changing spark plugs on a 99 Cad Catera?Rh side:Relieve the fuel system pressure.Disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses from the intake manifold.Move heater hoses. Unplug electrical connection @ coil pack.Remove the coil pack retainer bolts. Remove Coil pack. Note: Gm uses a special tool in order to avoid damaging the coil pack. You can fabricate a similar device.Lh side more straight forward.Changing spark plugs on a 99 Cad Catera? You have to take the plastic cover off the engine.May also have to remove the upper intake plenum to reach some of them.Car is not very popular so I'm not sure if it is coil over plug or not.Hopefully a GM expert will chime in.Changing spark plugs on a 99 Cad Catera?look and see if you can pull the front tire and the lowwer part of the inner fender then you should be able to get to the spark plugs the is what i do to my truck 2003 frod you can bye the replacsement pins to put the inner fender back on cheap

Good Luck... they are junk

By an Escalade... it is good!Change spark plugs on a lincoln navigator 99'?Most likely it is a coil on plug arrangment, try to find the distributor and follow those wires to see where they go, there will be a small coil pack that you must take off to get to the plugs, this is how my Excursion is, also look by the fuel injection rails, as this is where my coil packs are found right next to the fuel rails.Change spark plugs on a lincoln navigator 99'?they are located under the power packs on each head,4 per head.they don't need changing until 100 thousand miles.however if not properly installed the will cause the threads to come out of the head.this was a por design on fords part that has been corrected.i would let a dealership do this as it is a several thousand dollar repair if the threads come out.Change spark plugs on a lincoln navigator 99'?honestly i wouldnt try to do this by yourself unless you are really patient. the plugs are hidden pretty well in the engine compartment. they are on the top of the motor right by the fuel rails. each plug has its own coil pack that bolts down right on top of the plug.

  • I have 1995 toyota corrolla with 222,000 miles,I went to change the spark plugs in the car a while ago.?

I noticed that the wires were very difficult to removed from the plugs.I pulled the spark plugs out and noticed that there was oil around the plug not on it,but down in the port chamber,as if oil was leaking down around the plug.I put the plugs back and the car runs Fine. What is happening? Is the vavle cover leaking?I have 1995 toyota corrolla with 222,000 miles,I went to change the spark plugs in the car a while ago.?you could have a valve cover leak or plug tube seal leak or could have spilled oil when adding to engine.i had an a** hole spill oil all over my new tacoma engine on the first oil change (oil was everywhere under the hood)then he tried to tell me i had oil leaks.i made them clean my engine and give me two free oil changes for his incompetence!I have 1995 toyota corrolla with 222,000 miles,I went to change the spark plugs in the car a while ago.?Car needs engine rebuilt as proper maintenance was not done and probably timing belt not changed every 75,000 miles which is stamped when done on block.I have 1995 toyota corrolla with 222,000 miles,I went to change the spark plugs in the car a while ago.?Try the valve cover gasket.

How do you remove spark plugs on a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE? Do you have to change the spark plug tubes, too?

Any special problems or tools needed?

Thank you !How do you remove spark plugs on a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE? Do you have to change the spark plug tubes, too?Sometime the cyl head gasket leaks and the spark plugs become stuck in the Cyl head. If you run across one that only turns 1/4 turn and binds up watch out forcing the plug will break it off. After removing the coils. Spark plug seals on the plastic valve cover stay with the cover no tubes to deal with either. No special tools just be careful use NGK spark plugs designed for that motor. Not Bosch (wrong resistance) other brands Nippondenso has a good iridium plug that will work. And NGK exact replacement are the only ones to use. Look at how long the threaded section is it has to match up.

How do you change the spark plugs and wires on a 2000 lincoln ls V8?

I would like to do this myself if I can. I dont know if it will be to much work. How do you change the spark plugs and wires on a 2000 lincoln ls V8?The Lincoln LS has a distirbutorless ignition system, it uses a coil on plug system. There is no distributor, each plug has its own ignition coil in its wire. I would not recommend replacing these unless needed as they are expensive and typically shouldnt be replaced untill they fail to function. The LS features Motorcraft Platinum plugs that are rated for 100,000 miles. So I wouldn't change those untill 100,000 miles. If you are at 100,000 miles or if your plugs for some reason do need to be replaced then I believe on the LS you have a plastic cover to remove off the top of the engine and then the plugs and coils if I remember right are actually located under the fuel rail so you will have to depressurize the fuel rail by depressing the schrader valve. Then you can safely remove the fuel rail and access the plugs and coils. How do you change the spark plugs and wires on a 2000 lincoln ls V8?you'll need a socket set, with another set of extenders and some u-joint looking things to allow the spark plug socket to fit in there. you probably already have a socket set. the extensions and u-joint thing will probably cost about $15 tops. i had to use them on my jeep grand cherokee. How do you change the spark plugs and wires on a 2000 lincoln ls V8?Stlbluesrams34 is on the right track. the LS with the v8 engine does not have a distributor or plug wires. It has a coil mounted individually above each plug. The platinum plugs will last a long time, but if yours is a high mileage car (75,000 or more) and needs it, you could do this job yourself. On top of each valve cover is a small cover plate held on with a few 8mm head bolts. You will have to remove some things to get enough access to them (especially on the drivers side). But you won't have to bother any fuel lines on the v8 engine. One 8mm head bolt holds down each coil. Loosen it and unplug the coil and remove it. It's a pain to get to some of them but be patient and you can do it. Don't forget since this engine has aluminum heads, be sure to do this job with the engine cold and use a little anti-seize on the new plug threads.

I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and I need to change the spark plugs...do I have plug wires too?

I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and I need to change the spark plugs...do I have plug wires too?yesI have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and I need to change the spark plugs...do I have plug wires too?Plug wires go over the spark plugs to give a connection between the motor and distributor, otherwise there would be no spark to fire up the engine. Considering that you don't know about your vehicle or its parts I suggest you take it to a shop and let them do itI have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and I need to change the spark plugs...do I have plug wires too?when u open ur bonnet and look in side ov it follow the leads from ur sparke plugs they will go 2 either a coil pack or 2 a dizzy coil pack looks like a square block with all 4 leads on 2 it a dizzy is round and normally orange in colourI have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and I need to change the spark plugs...do I have plug wires too?Coil ignition is when each spark plug has it's own coil going to the spark plug, sometimes mounted right on top of the spark plug. I would just get new platinum plugs..... wires last a long time, and if you have coils for each spark plug, they almost never go bad, so you wont replace them.
